Senior Assistant Secretary

The Administration Division is entrusted with the establishment work and general administration matters of the State Ministry of Coconut, Kithul, Palmyrah Cultivation Promotion and Related Industrial Product Manufacturing & Export Diversification. The Division is headed by the Senior Assistant Secretary (Admin).

The following activities are handled by the Administration Division:

• Distribution of all Letters received (from other institutions, officers, individuals and all divisions of this office) among divisions.
• Overall administration of the State Ministry.
• Management of human resources in the State Ministry.
• Updating of the Website.
• Dealing with matters pertaining to appeals made under Right to Information Act No. 12 of 2016 in the cases where the State Ministry is the Common Authority.
• Maintenance of the updated data on the cadre and vacancies of the   Institutions / Statutory boards (Coconut Cultivation Board, Coconut Research Institute, Coconut Development Authority, Chilaw Plantations Limited, Kurunegala Plantations Limited, Palmyrah Development Board and Kithul Development Board) over which the State Ministry is the Appointing Authority.
• This Division handles Appointments and Promotions as per approved Service Minutes, Schemes of Recruitment, Schemes of Promotion of the Institutions / Statutory boards (Coconut Cultivation Board, Coconut Research Institute, Coconut Development Authority, Chilaw Plantations Limited, Kurunegala Plantations Limited, Palmyrah Development Board and Kithul Development Board) over which the State Ministry is the Appointing Authority.

• This Division handles case of appeals and the disciplinary matters involving the officers coming under the scope of the State Ministry.
• Preparation / Submission of reports with observations on cases filed in the Supreme Court and Appearing before the relevant authorities on behalf of State Ministry.
